dark galaxy

Made from household waste

The dark galaxy award is dark grey with a subtle light speckle and is made from plastic household waste products like recyclable packaging, bags as well as plant pots. Basically all kind of plastic you can find in and around the city.

Currently, only a small percentage of the plastic waste coming from households is being recycled. We want to tell the story of waste in order to convey our goal: no more plastic waste(d). To make this trophy, the first step is to shred the plastic to get to a more workable material, where eventually it is pressed into panels which are used as the main material of the award. This panel will be sawn into a shape that has right proportions for the new awards to then be finalised with a 3D printed foot which is made from recycled PET bottles and a recycled perspex front plate. The customer can submit what should be on the front plate, like a logo, name of the winner, year (the 2022…) or a personal message. So our sustainable award carries two messages, the actual award and our sustainability message. The impact of this process is not only reducing waste and to promote innovation, but also giving the trophy an unique story which is driving the conversation about sustainability and thus driving the circular economy.

good granito & cool confetti

Made from old refrigerators

The Good Granito and Cool Confetti awards old refrigerators are used. For the production, plastic waste has been brought back to a level suitable for creating high quality awards with the help of a recycling process.

Fridges contain many components which can be recycled, such as steel, glass and aluminum, as well as plastic. The recycling process of refrigerators consists of two stages. In the first stage, the cooling compressors are removed and substances such as coolant are taken from them. During the second stage, the refrigerators are shredded into small pieces. After this, several separation processes ensure that by the time the recycling is done, almost completely pure material types remain which can be used again. Amongst these materials is plastic, which can eventually be pressed into panels which are used to make our awards. Through using the sustainable materials and its unique patterns within the awards, we aim to promote a circular economy whilst helping to reduce waste.

what we do

Awards made from sustainable materials

What makes an award sustainable? That could be many things, but foremost the materials we use.

Our awards are made from recycled plastics coming from products such as refrigerators. Currently only a small percentage of plastics is recycled, the rest ends up on landfill, incineration or, even worse, in nature. We take an active role in terms of ensuring that plastics which have been used in the past are not left at the waste pile, but instead are used in new products and innovation. It’s time for change, no more plastic waste(d).

No material waste(d)

The circular economy: from waste to glory

For our sustainability awards, we use waste and turn it back in to what we call new glory. For this we use resources such as old refrigerators and household waste and turn them into unique awards for all winners and events across the globe, from France and Italy all the way to Australia.

With the sustainable awards, we show that waste is not the same as wasted. For this, the first and most important demand for making our awards is letting the material be the hero. We never add a new color to materials to ensure that all color originates from the original products. The Cool Confetti material for example uses the white from fridges in combination with pops of color from single use plastics of which a part consists of plates, cups and cutlery. Every material therefore has its own story. High quality recycled plastic materials that will make your award stand out and promote the circular economy. We’re making our sustainability awards for clients all over the world, from Europe to North America to New Zealand.

awards for winners

Leaders of innovation deserve a sustainability award

Many of the winners of the sustainability awards share a drive for innovation, facing new challenges around sustainability and other topics during their work.

We want to create an award which will be highlighting and celebrating their impact on the world whilst letting them feel like a winner. What the impact of an award can be is bigger than it may seem at the first sight, considering its contribution to a circular economy through reusing plastic waste for awards which can be remade into the most unique, new awards by the end of its cycle. More importantly, the awards are supporting a network of stories around sustainability and the innovation behind it which can be told by more and more stakeholders across the world.
