Sustainability

At Upstream Trophies, we are deeply committed to pioneering sustainability in the trophy and awards industry. Inspired by our mission to transform recycled plastics into symbols of achievement and recognition, we have embedded sustainability into every facet of our operation. Here’s how we are making a difference:

Recycled Materials

From waste to glory

By leveraging advanced recycling technologies, we convert fish nets, packaging, refrigerators and other waste materials into beautiful, durable trophies. This process significantly reduces the environmental impact associated with raw material extraction and production, embodying our vision for a circular economy.

New plastic vs recycled plastic

CO2 Savings

Recycled plastic significantly reduces CO2 emissions compared to new, fossil-based plastic. It cuts CO2 emissions by 0.8 to 2.6 kilograms per kilogram of recycled plastic produced. When considering the entire life cycle of the plastic, including the avoidance of emissions from incineration, the total CO2 savings can range from 2.6 to 4.6 kilograms per kilogram of recycled plastic.

BlueCity

Energy

Solar powered

Upstream Trophies is located in BlueCity, a circular model city in Rotterdam. Here, entrepreneurs focus on increasing impact, creating waste-free products and developing future-proof materials. In our BlueCity-based operations, sustainability is paramount. We’ve embraced solar energy for our trophy production, minimizing environmental impact at every step. This commitment extends to selecting suppliers who prioritize sustainability in energy use, materials, and social practices, ensuring our entire production chain reflects our eco-friendly values.

Reusing production waste

Every Piece Counts

At Upstream Trophies, our zero-waste commitment extends to innovatively repurposing production waste, such as turning cut-off’s or milling remnants into sample materials. This approach not only reduces our environmental footprint but also demonstrates our dedication to sustainability by using every bit of material effectively.

A Lifecycle Approach

Trophy Recycling Program

Our trophy recycling program not only accepts returns of their own trophies but also accepts to send back any old trophies, including sports trophies, for recycling. This inclusive approach ensures that all trophies, regardless of their origin, can be repurposed or recycled, aligning with our commitment to sustainability. While we automatically accept our own trophies for recycling, others will be assessed through a form submission, promoting widespread participation in sustainable practices and minimizing environmental impact.

Improving

Our Sustainable Journey

At Upstream trophies, sustainability is not just a policy; it’s a promise. A promise to our planet, our customers, and future generations. We are constantly exploring innovative ways to enhance our sutainability practices, from sourcing materials to production processes and beyond.
