Recycled plastic significantly reduces CO2 emissions compared to new, fossil-based plastic. It reduces CO2 emissions by 0.8 to 2.6 kilograms per kilogram of recycled plastic produced. When considering the entire lifespan of plastic, including the prevention of emissions from incineration, each kilogram of recycled plastic can save between 2.6 and 4.6 kilograms of CO2. KLM Sustainability & Innovation Award<\/strong>For this award, we took the challenge to design and build 20 awards made only from waste plastic found on their planes.
